Registration & Signup

  • First, you must contact one of the participating clinics. The clinic will help determine if you are eligible for the program. If eligible, the clinic will provide a referral code and a link to the enrollment survey. Complete the survey to enroll. Since membership is done per household, your registration is done under one person’s name; however, it registers the entire household. Please allow one week for processing your membership before using your benefits at the market.

  • Each month you will receive reminders via e-mail and text message to shop at the market for that month. When you arrive at the market, you will go to the market manager's table and pay your out-of-pocket funds. Once paid, you will receive your match funds (tokens) and be free to shop at your leisure!

HOW OKFRESH WORKS

  • OKFresh requires members to pay out-of-pocket funds to receive matching funds from the program. Members can receive up to $20 each month in matching funds and choose how much they wish to pay at their participating market (any amount up to $20).

‍For example, you can pay $10 in cash at the first market day of the month, and you will receive $10 in OKFresh match funds to use at the market. Then, you can come back again on the third market day of the month and pay $10 in SNAP benefits and receive an additional $10 in OKFresh match funds to use at the market. The maximum OKFresh pays in matching funds is $20 per membership per month.

  • Your out-of-pocket funds can be paid with cash, credit/debit, or SNAP benefits. Each market may vary on the payment forms they accept so please check with the market for their specific payment terms.

  • White tokens represent the out-of-pocket funds you paid and green tokens represent the OKFresh matching funds. You can spend your white tokens on any food item (including milk, meat, or eggs) or food-bearing plants at the market. The green tokens can only be spent on fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, or food-bearing plants.

  • Out-of-pocket funds are valid for any SNAP eligible food item and food-bearing plants. OKFresh match funds are valid for fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, fresh herbs, and food-bearing plants.

  • Yes, tokens can be used on any of the designated market days. Tokens do not have to be used the day they are received, however, the maximum amount of green tokens a member can use each month is $20 worth so be sure to use all of your green tokens each month.

  • Yes. Once you have completed your shopping at the market, please return to the market manager’s table. Your produce will be weighed and you will receive that months giveaway.

  • No, once tokens are issued, they cannot be replaced.

  • It is ok to miss a market, but your $20 in match benefits that month will expire and will not roll over. You will also not be eligible for that month’s giveaway.

  • If you miss more than 3 months of markets, your membership will automatically be terminated from the OKFresh program.

  • The OKFresh project is funded through September of 2024.
